Beyond the Ink, Vol 3: Emotional SMP Treatment Reveal by Hairline Ink

At Hairline Ink, we strive to make sure our work has the intended result of having a positive impact on your self-confidence and overall quality of life. We asked one of our clients, Harvy Vazquez, about how his Scalp Micropigmentation experience at Hairline Ink has affected him.

Harvey had been suffering from hair loss for about 6 years, had felt that he would have to wear a hat every day for the rest of his life, until one day he stumbled across a Facebook post for Scalp Micropigmentation at Hairline Ink. One week later, Vazquez arrived for a consultation, and after talking to Hairline Ink practitioner Christopher Lopez, was relieved to find out Chris was a “down-to-earth dude” and “a normal guy” just like he was.

Vazquez apparently works with some guys who like to “bust each other’s chops” all the time, so expected to catch some grief for having altered his appearance.  After his first session he was surprised to find that rather than catch any flack, like he thought he might, he got nothing but positive reactions.

Harvey, having elected not to look at his treatment like many of our clients, warned us that he might get a little emotional upon seeing his new image. We were happy to see that he was right, as his sheer joy over his new look was palpable and is the exact reason we wholeheartedly love the work that we do here at Hairline Ink.

We asked Harvey, who looked like he had won the Superbowl, what the first thing he was going to do after seeing his completed treatment. He remarked without hesitation and with a big grin on his face, “I’m going out to dinner without a hat!”

HARVEY:  My name is Harvey Vazquez, I’m from Passaic, New Jersey, and I’m 33 years old. I’ve been losing my hair probably about 6 years now, maybe a little more.

I was on Facebook actually and it kinda popped up while I was scrolling down, and I said what’s that? And I clicked on it, and the following week I was in here getting a consultation.

I used a thing called Caboki, for an area right here, and it made everything black except for that area right there.

Hats are a part of my life, so I’m probably gonna wear them every now and then, but it’d be nice not to have to.

It’d be nice for me to take her out, be able to dress nice, and not have a hat on.

I came here to Hairline Ink and honestly, Chris was a real down to Earth dude, and, normal guy just like me, and I loved it. I loved the experience.

I work with a bunch of dudes who like to bust chops and stuff, but um, one of the guys, who’s actually a lot balder than I was, he was pretty amazed at how my head came out after the first session.

CHRIS:  You got it man!

HARVEY:  Wow… Yeah… I told you I’d get emotional.

CHRIS:  I’m telling you man, it changes your life. No more hats! -No more hats. You’re done with hats. What’d you say you’re gonna do after you’re done? -I’m going out to dinner with no hat, man!

HARVEY:  Thanks again man.

CHRIS:  Ah no doubt, man.

HARVEY:  When I looked after the first session I mean, it looked good, but, I couldn’t wait for that second session. I just couldn’t wait for it. Which is why I just came in here, ya know, the following week. And um, after the second session I mean, like I said, I’m at a loss for words.

I was tired of it. I was tired of wearing hats all the time, and… I went for it man. I took a chance and it paid off man. It paid off for sure.

I came in here, you know, not expecting… not expecting this. And, I can’t, I can’t talk man. it’s awesome. It’s awesome.
