Cosmetic Hair Tattoo for Patrick from Afghanistan

Hairline Ink client, Patrick Simon, started noticing his hairline beginning to recede almost a decade ago and has been battling his hair loss ever since. As his hair began to thin, Mr. Simon was forced to change his hairstyle to adapt to the situation, often going to see the barber twice a week to keep his condition from being noticeable. He also lamented at feeling like he always needed to wear a hat to cover the affected area.

Patrick: My name is Patrick Simon, I’m 37 years old from Houston, Texas.

Orian: Dallas fan?

Patrick: Uh, Houston fan. I had long dreads and I started noticing that the corners had started to thin. Around 28, 29, um, then the middle started getting thin, so, it wasn’t a good look with dreads so I ended up cutting that off.

Orian: When did you chop it all off, how long ago?

Patrick: Um, 2011 I think. It was going through phases where, it was bald and then in like, two weeks, i had a full head of hair. And then it started slowly going away so, we played that game for 5 or 6 months. And then it just started thinning real bad right here, like on the corners right here.

Orian: Gotcha

Patrick: I was in Afghanistan going to the barbers twice a week, I’d go on like a Monday and then like on a Saturday. Just to try and keep it looking natural. I just want to be able to wake up in the morning and brush my hair and go, without having to wear a hat, cause if I don’t have a hat for a certain outfit, I can’t wear it, you know?

I feel like I’ve made the right decision. I’m definitely in love with it. Right now, based on how session one looks, I know session two is really gonna pop.

And I encourage anybody who’s having thoughts of doing it, you can’t put a price on self-esteem so if you got it, do it.

Chris: You told me you haven’t worn a hat yet, right?

Patrick: MY last time wearing a hat was, May 5th, 2017, and of course I wore it out of here because it was raining, I didn’t want to get it wet. But when I got back to Texas, still to this day I haven’t worn a hat yet, and that’s unlikely for me.

Patrick: Man yeah, I don’t think it can get no better than this. It’s absolutely perfect man.

Chris: Take a peek at that crown area, that bald spot you had in the back. Tell me if you see that bald spot.

Patrick: Non-existent. Oh man, this is crazy. It’s crazy.

Chris: Was it worth it?

Patrick: Oh definitely, this is the best money I’ve ever spent, man.
