If you are experiencing hair loss or thinning, you know how devastating it can be to your self-perception and relationships with others. You might feel like there’s no solution or that you will be stuck hiding your head forever. However, you will be happy to learn that you have multiple options to cope with your hair loss.
DIY hair thickening masks offer a temporary solution for hair thinning and loss. Not only are they fun to make, but they can also alleviate some of the problems associated with thinning hair. We’ve provided a few for you to experiment with:
Protein Egg Mask: You’ll find most items for this hair mask in your home! All you need to do is combine one egg with one tablespoon of coconut oil, ½ teaspoon of honey, and half an avocado. Massage the mask into your scalp, let it sit for 30 minutes, and then shampoo to remove it.
Rosemary and Nettle Tea Mask: This mask strengthens hair, promotes growth, and smells like a salon treatment. Add ¾ cup of rosemary and a nettle tea bag to boiling water for this mask. Let the mixture steep for about an hour off the heat. After cooling and straining, pour it over your hair, then comb, rinse, and shampoo.
Coconut Milk Mask: Combine ½ cup of coconut milk with three teaspoons of olive oil for this mask. Massage the mask onto your scalp and sit for 10 to 15 minutes before shampooing to rinse. Easy!
