It's Time to Rediscover Confidence

Why Long-Term Scalp Micropigmentation is Better than a Hair Loss Concealer

To put it simply, hair loss concealers are merely a temporary solution, while scalp micropigmentation is a more permanent one. While both options are different, each has its own set of benefits. It is, meanwhile, actually still important to compare the two because many people who want to try scalp micropigmentation have been relying on concealers thus far.

While there are slight differences from one brand of concealer to the next, they are pretty much all the same thing and perform the same function. The list of major brand concealers includes DermMatch, Nanogen Nanofibres, COUVRe, Caboki, and Toppik.

There are many other brands, but these are the big ones. They are often cheap to produce, which is how and why manufacturers can afford to produce so many.

The main problem with concealers is that they rely on the presence of real hair, in order to provide structure for fibers or powder in the formula. Therefore, the more hair you have left on your head, the better the concealer will work for you.

The sad thing is that many men become addicted to using concealer, even though their hair continues to get thinner and thinner. The money that is spent on hair concealer, even if it might now be working, is astronomically high, especially because more concealer is required to make up for the increasing amount of hair that is lost, which, in turn, produces unnatural looking results.

Concealers also contain many lifestyle restrictions. Often, those who use concealer develop a fear of their hair being touched by someone else, are wary of wind or rain, cannot go swimming while using concealer, and are likely to suffer intimacy issues.

Men have reported waking up in the middle of the night only to discover a pile of soot on their pillow or, worse, on their partner.

On the other hand, if you decide to use scalp micropigmentation, you will be required to shave your head. In order to achieve the most realistic appearance possible, you might need to shave your whole head. On the bright side, you will be able to walk outside into any weather, without having to worry about your hair. However, in the case of prolonged exposure to the sun, experts would advise using sunscreen, in order to prolong the life of the pigment, as well as to protect your scalp. The things that are off limits or cause problems when wearing concealer, like running, swimming, being intimate, sweating, are all possible with this method of treatment.
