How Will I Look Immediately After the Scalp Micropigmentation Procedure?
The idea of undergoing a scalp micropigmentation procedure is usually a little daunting at first. As you learn more about how the treatment works, the confidence it restores, and how satisfied our clients are after their treatment, you probably still have a few questions. One of the most popular questions our clients have is, “How will I look immediately after the scalp micropigmentation procedure?” It’s a good question, and we want to discuss the answer in greater detail.
As soon as the last drop of pigment is in place, you will get to examine the results in a mirror and see how natural our replication technique looks. You will notice some irritation across the scalp, where the treatment occurred, but the pigment will still be very noticeable. The body has already begun the healing process by this time, and the redness on your scalp is blood flow, delivering nutrients to the scalp.
By this time, your scalp will still be a little irritated from the needlework but any slight pain you may have experienced will have completely gone away. You may be tempted to touch the scalp, but we ask that you give your body time to heal.
The redness will slowly start to fade, and your scalp will return to its natural color, usually by the fourth day. During this time, most of the healing process takes place. You may notice some sensitivity to touch, and many of our patients wear hats during this time. If you do wear a hat while you recover, be sure to take it off periodically to let your scalp breath.
Your treatment is almost completely healed, and you may notice the development of some scabs. It’s important that you resist the urge to touch your scalp or pick at the scabs because this is your body’s way of finalizing the healing process. Everyone’s body heals differently, and we will provide aftercare guidance following your treatment to ensure you have the best results possible.
